Pinion Advisory is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and elevate our People function across Australia. This role plays a pivotal part in strengthening workforce capability and supporting a fast growing advisory business. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, guide performance and compliance, and help shape the employee experience for a geographically dispersed and rural connected workforce.

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Lead Core HR Operations

  • Oversee day‑to‑day HR activity, serving as the central coordination point for all people‑related matters (including L&D, recruiting, internal communications, etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with the U.S. People team to align practices, share insights, and ensure a cohesive global HR approach.
  • Ensure timely communication, documentation, and issue resolution across the employee lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to formalise, streamline, and document HR processes for a growing business.
  • Support change initiatives aligning with organisational growth and future capability needs.
  • Supervise and support the work of the HR Coordinator.

Talent Development

  • Guide leaders through performance conversations, policy interpretation, and employee relations.
  • Drive a proactive, consistent approach to talent development and performance management, including the enhancement of performance improvement processes and accountability mechanisms.

Compliance, Policy & Risk Management

  • Maintain high confidentiality and sound judgement in handling sensitive matters.
  • Conduct policy reviews in compliance with Fair Work legislation, working with employment attorneys as needed.

Onboarding, Engagement & People Experience

  • Strengthen onboarding strategy and experience to support consistent integration across locations.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and build rapport across teams.

What You’ll Need for This Position

 

Qualifications & Technical Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Commerce or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Fair Work legislation, modern awards, and Australian HR compliance expectations.
  • Demonstrated experience operating as an HR Manager or senior HR advisor in a growing or multi‑site environment.
  • Ability to partner effectively with international teams (particularly U.S.-based People/HR).
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft 365.

  • Ability to travel overnight up to 15% per year

Digital Fluency & Critical Thinking

  • Competence in modern HRIS, digital documentation, and workflow systems.
  • Comfortable analysing information, assessing risk, and recommending evidence‑based solutions.
  • Ability to simplify complex HR issues for non‑HR stakeholders.
